As a Baranoff volunteer, AISD requires that you submit to a background check. Checks are a vital tool in protecting the safety of our children.
Who needs a background check? According to AISD, all volunteers who participate on a school campus much submit to a criminal history background check. This includes general volunteers, tutors, field trip chaparones, and mentors.
There are three (3) exceptions:
- Parents and Grandparents who are only volunteering in their (grand)child's classroom with a teacher present.
- Volunteers who are only participating in one-time events.
- Visitors that will be constantly supervised by an AISD employee.
Background checks are simple to do and are available as a free service through the AISD Partners in Education web site.

There are dozens of ways that you can volunteer at Baranoff. Office Assistants, Classroom Parents, Program Coordinators, Library Helpers. . . . the list goes on. However, you can only see these opportunities and ways to sign up online to volunteer if you are a Registered User. Registration takes less than five minutes!

Or if you would prefer, you can print the form and bring it to the school office and put in the PTA box.
